Apple Crisp

A warming dessert that brings thoughts of grandmas apple pie rushing in. The Granny smith apples add a tartness that makes this recipe really come alive. Serve alone or splurge with a bit of vanilla nice-cream!

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400° F. Line an 8"x8" pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the arrowroot powder, cinnamon, ginger, and ground cloves. Toss to combine. Add 1/4 cup maple syrup and stir to coat apples. Transfer apple mixture to the prepared pan.
  3. In another small bowl, combine almond butter, 2 TBS maple syrup, and vanilla. Stir to combine. Add oats, cinnamon, and sea salt.
  4. Spread oat mixture over the apples or drop over apples in small tablespoon fulls.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes. Reduce heat to 350° F and bake for an additional 30 minutes. Cool before serving. Enjoy!
