Applesauce is a great addition as sweeteners for recipes or a snack on the side. Most applesauces are heavily processed and usually have other ingredients added. You can make your’s fresh in 5 minutes and leave the processing and additives at the grocer.

Instructions
  1. Cut each apple into at least quarters.
  2. In a blender or food processor add all apple quarters. Pulse until desired texture is achieved. If you're using this in a recipe you'll want a nice creamy consistency.
  3. Add the lemon juice only to maintain color if you're going to store in the refrigerator. This will store well for about 5 days.

When choosing your apples for making applesauce it's best to keep in mind what your purpose is. If it is to use in another recipe as sweetener, you'll want to choose a sweeter apple variety such as a gala apple.
