Watermelon Lime Workout Recovery Juice

I made this juice after my run the other day and it was so good I just had to share it. It has a sweet flavor with a hint of tart from the lime that is heightened by the electrolyte boosting sea salt.

It’s great for recovery after a long run or a tough workout because of the recovery nutrients in it. Watermelon contains sugars and an amino acid called arginine, which is great for balancing blood sugar and repairing muscles. Lime is high in vitamin C which helps lower cortisol levels caused by the stress of working out. It also helps ward off free-radical damage from the strain you put on your body during a workout.

All in all, it’s a great post workout addition. It’s also just delicious as a refreshing summer drink. You could add a bit of seltzer water to it for a yummy spritzer, or even a splash of vodka for a barbecue delight. Any way you jazz it up you’ll love this combination for the summer.
